Our guide to Louvre Museum Guided Tour with Skip the Line Access

Since the overwhelming success of Dan Brown’s novel, ‘The Da Vinci Code’, the Louvre has welcomed even more visitors through its doors in search of the same symbols and clues found by the book’s hero Robert Langdon.

Your Grand Louvre Tour ticket allows you to bypass the long ticket queues and maximise your time in the museum.

Although it would take months to admire every object, your expert guide will help you discover some of the most famous treasures including the Venus de Milo, the Coronation of Napoleon and, of course, the Mona Lisa, painted by Leonardo da Vinci.

Transformed into a museum in 1793, the Louvre had previously served as a key residence for the Kings of France. Nestled in the heart of Paris, the vast galleries of the Louvre cover an impressive 786,000 square feet. Boasting the world's largest collection of artworks, the museum spans over 7,000 years of history, encompassing ancient civilizations to the 19th century. Its collections are categorized into eight departments: Egyptian antiquities, Greek, Etruscan & Roman antiquities, Near Eastern antiquities, Islamic art, Paintings, Sculptures, Decorative Arts, and Prints and drawings.

Embark on a journey through these remarkable collections with your guide, who will unveil some of the museum's most renowned works and share the intriguing stories behind them. Marvel at the Mona Lisa, an iconic portrait painted by Leonardo da Vinci in 1506 and recognized as one of the most famous depictions of a woman worldwide. Admire the Venus de Milo, a celebrated Greek sculpture dating back to 100 BC, depicting the goddess Aphrodite. Explore the grand 33-foot-long painting of the Coronation of Napoleon, created in 1807 by Jacques-Louis David to commemorate Napoleon Bonaparte's crowning in Notre Dame Cathedral.

The tour lasts approximately two hours and afterwards, you can continue to explore the museum on your own.
