General Policies

  • Age Requirements: Bookings must contain at least one person who is 21 or older.
  • Check-in Requirments: A major credit card and photo I.D. is required upon check-in to cover incidental charges. Check-in is at 4.00pm and check-out is at 11.00am.
  • Rollaway Beds: Rollaway beds are available on a first-come, first-served basis through Star Service Hotline for $35 per day, plus 12.5% sales tax. One rollaway bed is allowed per room.
  • Smoking Policy: All Universal resort hotels are 100% smoke-free. The non-smoking policy applies to all hotel areas, except for designated outdoor smoking areas. The cleaning fee for smoking in guest rooms is $250.
  • Housekeeping: All Universal hotels are currently offering a contactless housekeeping service. Fresh linens, towels, and bathroom amenities will be delivered to your guest room door upon request. The availability of some offerings at Universal hotels may be temporarily limited.

    Loews Portofino Bay Hotel is well placed within Universal Orlando Resort - the Universal Parks and Universal CityWalk are just a short walk along the walking paths or minutes away by water taxi or shuttle. The hotel is also well-placed for everything else Orlando has to offer too. International Drive, SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Aquatica are an easy 10 to 15 minute drive away. Orlando International Airport and Walt Disney World are only a 20-minute drive from the hotel.

Why we love it

This hotel is perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway, families wanting an extra bit of luxury and any foodies. Enjoying some gelato whilst sitting, looking out over the harbour, as the sun sets is truly magical.

The exterior of the hotel is under renovation. The work is estimated to be completed by 31 December 2024. During this time, scaffolding is in place in certain areas of the hotel. There may be intermittent noise and dust. Some walkways may be re-routed. Some guest rooms may have views blocked by scaffolding or sheeting over the windows. Club lounge window views will be obstructed through 31 May 2024. Views from the Harbor Piazza shops and dining outlets may be blocked by scaffolding and fencing through 31 July 2024. All of the hotel’s services, shops, restaurants and bars are available with the exception of Trattoria del Porto which will re-open by 20 May 2024, after a full renovation. The hotel’s swimming pools will remain open throughout the hotel renovation. Scaffolding and intermittent noise will impact the pools when the renovation progresses to different areas. The hotel offers three swimming pools and only one pool will be impacted at any time.

Parking in the Universal Orlando car park costs $27 per day, or you can pay extra to upgrade to Prime Parking or Valet. But if you arrive after 6pm, you can park for free (on non-Halloween Horror Nights event nights).
