Special access at the Vatican one hour before it opens to the public!

Enter the Sistine Chapel before it opens to the general public and enjoy Michelangelo’s masterpieces in peace before embarking on a thorough guided tour of the Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica. There is simply no better way to see the highlights of the Vatican without the crowds that can overrun the galleries later in the day.

Our guide to Pristine Sistine Early Entrance Small Group Vatican Tour

The Sistine Chapel was not meant to be seen standing shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of other people. Beat the crowds by entering 45 minutes before the Chapel opens to the public and enjoy the incredible frescoes in relative peace.

After spending quality time with Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Chapel, your expert guide will lead you on a full tour of the Vatican Museums, stopping to see all the most important works. Since you have started early, you will stay one step ahead of the crowds in most galleries as you enjoy fantastic art like the Raphael Rooms, the Apollo Belvedere, Laocoon and Sons, and more.

Once you have covered the museums, you will enter the Sistine Chapel again. Noticably more crowded now, you will pass through a special corridor that lets you skip the lines into St. Peter’s Basilica. Here, enjoy an hour-long tour of the immense Basilica, including stops at Michelangelo’s heart wrenching Pietá and Bernini’s enormous Baldachin altar. Afterwards, you are free to explore the St. Peter’s for as long as you want.

Traveling in a small group with an expert local guide and with headsets for every guest, you will never have to worry about losing your group or missing some interesting piece of information - and there is a lot of interesting information. The Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica have never been more accessible.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions for Pristine Sistine Early Entrance Small Group Vatican Tour

Can I bring a bag into the Vatican Museums?

Yes, as long as it's within a certain size. You cannot bring any bag, backpack suitcase or container larger that 40cm x 35cm x 15cm into the Vatican Museums. In fact, size limits apply to all items; because of the sheer number of people that visit the Museums, space is at a premium. You can not enter with medium to large umbrellas, any umbrellas with spiked tips, camera tripods, signage (apart from signs used by certified guides) or walking sticks – except those required by disabled visitors. All of these items can be left in the cloakroom, which is located at the entrance to the Museums. This means that you will need to walk 15 - 20 minutes back here after you finish your tour at St Peter's Basilica.
