Make a splash at these top five Orlando water parks!

Cool down in that Florida heat and enjoy the most exciting water parks that Orlando has to offer.

No holiday is complete without a day spent at a water park, and luckily Orlando has some of the best in the world. Here’s our pick of the top five in the area, ready to add to your Florida bucket list.

Volcano Bay

Volcano Bay - Universal Orlando Resort

This massive waterpark opened fairly recently in 2017, and is Universal Orlando Resort's only water park. It’s tropical theme whisks guests away to another land, complete with a 200ft Krakatau Volcano. There’s also a huge beach, epic thrill slides, two lazy rivers and very unique ‘aqua-coaster’. Called the Krakatau Aqua Coaster, this part-water slide part-rollercoaster sends guests on a journey of twists, turns, and drops, all in an inflatable log boat. Small children are catered for too; there’s two huge splash areas - Tot Tiki Reed and Runamukka Reef.

For the more daring among you, there’s the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, which is the tallest body slide in the USA. Guests will stand in a closed capsule, the deafening sound of drumming reaching an intense crescendo, before a trap door in the floor opens, dropping you 125 feet to the ground below.

Volcano Bay is walking distance to Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Universal’s Aventura Hotel. With the Universal Orlando three-park Explorer ticket, you can visit as many times as you want in a 14-day period.

Typhoon Lagoon

Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park - Walt Disney World Resort in Florida

Explore curious caves, curling palm trees and loads of secluded sand spots - perfect for sunbathing and relaxing. This waterpark is ideal for families, as it has lots of shade, splash pools for younger guests, and family-friendly rides.  A gentle slide called Miss Adventure Falls glides visitors through a tunnel and takes a few twists and turns. This was one of the first themed water parks to open in Orlando, and lush gardens line the winding pathways too.

Experience Typhoon Lagoon as part of our 14 Disney Park Days for the Price of 7 special offer. Save money, and further enjoy your special holiday!

Blizzard Beach

Disney's Blizzard Beach - Walt Disney World Resort in Florida

This is the place to be on a hot Florida summer’s day - legend has it that, after a freak snowstorm, the sun came out and melted the ice and snow to create Blizzard Beach. The park has a fun ski-theme, complete with a melting mountain, Mt. Gushmore. Of the two Disney waterparks, Blizzard Beach is more suited for those looking for adrenaline pumping attractions and fast slides. The main attraction is Summit Plummet, one of the tallest free-fall body slides in the world.

Other popular slide choices include Snow Stormers, where you can race your family to the bottom on toboggan-style mats, and Slush Gusher, a 90ft high-speed water slide. Kids will enjoy the Ski Patrol Training Camp, a fun water-themed assault course.

Aquatica

Aquatica - SeaWorld Orlando

SeaWorld’s famous marine animals feature prominently throughout this waterpark. On the Dolphin Plunge you’ll slide down a glass tube that runs through a dolphin pool, with black-and-white Commerson’s dolphins swimming around you.

The newest slide at the park is KareKare Curl, which is designed to replicate the weightless feeling of riding on the crest of a wave. Another park favourite is Taumata Racers, a high-speed competitive mat ride where up to eight racers can challenge each other in a fun-filled race to the bottom. Aquatica also has loads of relaxing chill-out areas, so it’s perfect for those families who always want a bit of time unwinding in the sun.

LEGOLAND Waterpark

LEGOLANDⓇ Waterpark - LEGOLANDⓇ Florida

Did you know that you can build your own LEGOⓇ raft at the LEGOLANDⓇ Florida Waterpark? The Build-A-Raft River is great fun for big kids and little ones alike, as you can challenge each other to build the best boat. A great all-rounder, this waterpark features a nice mix of gentle and fast slides, meaning that groups and families of all ages can enjoy it. Splash Out has a choice of three slides, all sending you down a 60ft drop before you splash into the pool below.

With the LEGOLANDⓇ one-day water park combo ticket, you can access both the main theme park and the waterpark, enjoying over 50 rides and attractions between them.
