Our Guide to ATX™ Astronaut Training

ATX Astronaut Training at Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex features an exciting combination of hands-on training activities and simulation experiences designed to prepare participants for the rigors of space flight. You’ll hear first-hand from veteran NASA Astronauts and space exploration educators and as you progress through mission simulations and space exploration activities.

Your ATX Astronaut Training Ticket includes:

  • Motion-Based Spaceflight Simulators
  • Full Scale Space Shuttle Mission Simulation
  • Astronaut Briefing and Question & Answer Session
  • Snacks and Beverages
  • ATX Gear (including Mission Polo Shirt)

Operates: The ATX programme runs every Saturday

Schedule: There is the choice of two time slots. The morning programme starts at 8.30am and is completed by 1.30pm. The afternoon programme starts at 1.00pm and is completed by 6.00pm

Restrictions: Crew members must be 14 years or older. Under 18’s must be accompanied by an adult. Some height and weight restrictions apply on certain simulators. Participants should be free of neck and back injuries.

Please Note: Your ticket does not include entrance to the exhibits at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – you must purchase an Admission Badge or a Space Pass should you wish to explore these areas before or after your ATX Astronaut Training Experience.

Kennedy Space Center is located in Cape Canaveral, an easy 60 minute drive east of Orlando.

Do I need to book a date for the ATX Astronaut Training Programme?
The ATX Astronaut Training programme is a reservation only experience so you must book at date with Orlando Ticket Deals at the time of booking.

Does my ATX Astronaut Training Experience Ticket include access to the other exhibits at Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex?
No, if you would like to explore Kennedy Space Center Space Center Visitors Complex, you must by a separate admission ticket. Please see our Admission Badge and Space Pass options.

Terms and Conditions

ATX Astronaut Training Experience operates on Saturdays only. Advance reservations are required. You must select your chosen date at the time of booking. ATX participants must be 14 years of age or older. Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Some height and weight restrictions apply on certain simulators. Shorts or trousers are recommended (no skirts). Athletic footwear preferred. Participants should be free of neck and back injuries. Transportation to Kennedy Space Center Visitors complex is not included. Your ticket does not include entrance to the exhibits at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex – a separate Kennedy Space Center Admission Badge or a Space Pass must be purchased should you wish to explore these areas.
