Overview

For those after a truly relaxing and rejuvenating retreat into the natural world, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground offers everything you could possibly want. Ideal for larger families, recreation includes swimming pools and a white-sand beach, fitness and horse riding trails, boat and bicycle rentals, fishing, hay rides, camp fires and sing-alongs under the stars. The six-person woodland cabins offer a quaint rustic holiday escape and are reminiscent of the log homes from pioneer days past, but with that special Disney touch. The interiors, sprinkled with richly-coloured wilderness accents, offer a fully-equipped kitchen, full bathroom, air conditioning, daily housekeeping, TV, VCR, dining room seating for six, plus an outdoor picnic table and grill. With vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, staying in a Wilderness Cabin is like having a little lodge just for your family.

  • Magic Touches

Fishing, swimming, horseback riding, hay rides, boating and cycling are just some of the exciting activities on offer at Disney's Fort Wilderness Cabins & Campground. There is also a petting farm, which younger members of the family will particularly enjoy. At night, gather round the campfire for a rousing sing-along with Chip and Dale, followed by a classic Disney film under the stars.

  • Location

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are located in the Magic Kingdom Resort area. Magic Kingdom Park is the closest Walt Disney World Theme Park to the resort and guests can use either the boat or Disney's Complimentary Transportation System to get them to the fun and charm of Disney's Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot.

Why we love it

This hotel is the perfect rustic contrast to the bustling parks. This is a hotel where you can truly relax and get back to nature as you spend your nights under the twinkling stars.

Note: From January 9, 2023 through early April 2023, Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa will be closed for refurbishment. The water play area and Meadow Snack Bar along with the Wilderness Swimmin' Pool and its nearby whirlpool spa will remain open for your enjoyment. You may see and hear construction noise while this refurbishment is underway, but you should not hear noise from Guest rooms between dusk and 9:00 AM. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Repeat customer with Attraction Tickets - everything worked like clockwork. Competitive pricing, communication and all worked as it should on the gate. As for Epcot - a great park, perhaps our favourite - lots for all the family to see and do. We opted for the Genie + add on each visit and it cut queuing times dramatically albeit at an additional cost. A lovely park to wander around, stunning gardens, great atmosphere and so easy to park hop from France with the Skyride.

As for Animal Kingdom - a great park, lots for all the family to see and do. We opted for the Genie + add on each visit and it cut queuing times dramatically albeit at an additional cost. Some question the value of Genie + here but we found it to be really useful, saved us loads of times and allowed us to do everything with very little queuing despite visiting in the Easter/Spring break hols.

Repeat customer with Attraction Tickets - everything worked like clockwork. Competitive pricing, communication and all worked as it should on the gate. As for Typhoon Lagoon - a great water park, lots for all the family and a nice opportunity to recharge inbetween park visits. Towels at $2ea for not Disney resort guests and lockers are $10 [small] $15 [lge] for the day both can be paid for with cards. I would recommend a waterproof lanyard for your phone and card/cash and then leave all else in the locker. The small ones are barely larger than a glovebox, while the large look to hold a rucksack or two. A nice park - we visited twice during our holiday.

Repeat customer with Attraction Tickets - everything worked like clockwork. Competitive pricing, communication and all worked as it should on the gate. As for Magic Kingdom - a great park, lots for all the family to see and do. We opted for the Genie + add on for the first visit which cut queuing times dramatically albeit at an additional cost but we managed to get on everything. Our second visit we didn't add Genie and had a relaxing day meeting characters, watching shows and popping onto short Q rides - felt completely different to the first visit - a nice immersive experience.
