Our Guide to Yosemite National Park in a Day
Situated 180 miles from San Francisco, Yosemite National Park is an area of outstanding natural beauty, shaped by the power of glaciers. Although it is best known for its high cliffs and stunning waterfalls, you will also find deep valleys, grand meadows, giant trees and vast wilderness areas within its boundaries.
Get an early start to the day and enjoy a view of the sunrise from the Bay Bridge before continuing by coach to Yosemite National Park. The four hour scenic drive to Yosemite takes you through the Central Valley, the most productive agriculture valley in America and then follows the beautiful Merced River to the Sierra Nevada Mountains where you enter Yosemite National Park.
After making a couple of stops at Scenic Vista’s when you enter Yosemite National Park, you will be given 2-3 hours free time to explore this natural wonderland on your own - this can be done by hiking along the scenic walks, renting a bicycle or by riding the free Valley floor shuttle bus. View sights such as Half Dome, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls and more. Refreshments can be purchased from Yosemite Village.
Operates: Daily May - October; Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays November-April. Tour does not operate on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day
Start Time: 7.30am. Hotel pick-ups will start up to 60 minutes before this time.
